“Somewhere in Glencoe where the wild ones go”

It’s no secret to the locals that Glencoe is fast becoming a hot spot for Elopements. With the steep dramatic mountains surrounding the glens, sparkling lochs and waterfalls at every turn it’s easy to see why. Put simply Glencoe has it all!

So, if you are thinking about saying your “I do’s” in Glencoe, here’s some important information for you to consider…

Getting Legally Married in Scotland

Did you know one of the great things about Scotland is that you can get legally married anywhere? No special licenses are required to be married by a river, loch or between the hills. What better reason or place than Glencoe - it’s an adventurous couples dream!

Where is Glencoe Situated in Scotland?

Glencoe is situated around one and a half hours drive from Glasgow and around two hours from Edinburgh, so it is easily accessible if you plan to hire a car or use public transport. Edinburgh and Glasgow are Scotlands most accessible airports, so this makes it straightforward for you to get there straight off the aeroplane!

Be prepared for the unexpected. Like any wedding taking place in Scotland you must be prepared to embrace some of elements, should Mother Nature decide to give you a stunning display of stormy skies. Bring what you need so that you can enjoy these moments if they happen, that means, umbrellas and wellies at the ready! Remember, that although you may feel a bit cold in the moment, often this creates the most atmospheric, dramatic photos (your favourited pictures on Pinterest and Instagram!) that are often the best!

Allow enough time to get to each location

Glencoe is one of the most picturesque places you can imagine. Ensure you give yourselves and your photographer and videographer enough time to fully capture the beauty that will surround you. Often it can take a little while to get from location to location and you want to ensure you don’t run out of time. We would suggest booking your Photographer and Videographer suppliers for at least a period of 4 hours to capture some getting ready shots, the Ceremony and all the dramatic, picturesque pictures your heart desires.
